MedBridge is a digital healthcare platform that helps patients complete prescribed rehabilitation programmes outside the clinic through guided exercise, education, and progress tracking. Used by healthcare providers and patients alike, the platform aims to improve engagement, adherence, and recovery beyond in-person appointments.
My Role
Product Designer
As a Product Designer, I partnered with product managers, researchers, engineers, and clinicians to redesign the mobile rehabilitation experience. My responsibilities included UX/UI design, interaction design, visual design, prototyping, accessibility improvements, design system evolution, and creating a more consistent patient experience across the platform.
Challenge
Recovering outside the clinic can be isolating and difficult to maintain. The existing mobile experience lacked consistency, clear guidance, and engaging interactions, making it harder for patients to stay motivated and confident throughout their rehabilitation journey.
The challenge was to create a more supportive digital experience that encouraged long-term engagement while improving communication between patients and their care teams.
Solution
We redesigned the mobile rehabilitation experience around clarity, motivation, and accessibility. By improving exercise guidance, refining the visual language, simplifying navigation, and evolving the design system, we created a more cohesive experience that helped patients stay engaged throughout recovery.
Impact
Improved exercise guidance to increase rehabilitation completion
Improved accessibility to increase successful patient adoption
Increased patient confidence through features such as direct clinician messaging.
Created a more consistent platform experience through an evolved design system, accelerating product delivery
Simplified recovery journeys to better support long-term patient engagement
